bring BAG (2025)
“Bring Bag” is a participatory system implemented in supermarkets where customers can donate shopping bags they no longer need. These bags are collected on-site and made available for others to reuse. This approach seamlessly integrates redistribution into the everyday shopping process. It promotes resource conservation without requiring additional effort or organization from users. As a result, reuse becomes a natural and routine part of consumption.
The “Bring Bag” system consists of two panels and a bag holder that can be attached to existing metal basket racks in supermarkets, avoiding the need for additional resource-intensive infrastructure. One panel, labeled “Bring Bag,” is placed near the bottle return area, where customers can leave shopping bags they no longer need. The second station, labeled “Take Bag,” is positioned near the checkout and includes a bag holder, making reusable bags easily accessible. This setup draws attention to the initiative at key points in the shopping process and encourages customers to reuse bags instead of purchasing new ones.
